The third Summer School and Conference on Geometric Algebra and Kähler Calculus is sponsored by Eric Alterman and will take place at the historical campus of Politecnico di Milano University, jointly organized by the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering and the Department of Mathematics, Milano (Italy).

In 2016, the first edition of the Alterman Conference was held at the Transilvania University of Brasov (Romania), while the 2017 Alterman Summer School was held at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia (Bulgaria). Manipal (India) is already preparing the fourth Alterman event for the summer of 2019.

The 2018 Alterman Conference & School will be held at the Campus-Leonardo, the historical district entitled to Leonardo da Vinci, still Headquarters of the Politecnico di Milano. Founded in 1863, Politecnico di Milano is today an academic network of 12 Departments, 4 Schools, 6 Regional Detachments (Milano Campus Leonardo and Milano Campus Bovisa, Como, Cremona, Lecco, Mantova, Piacenza), including large infrastructures and many technical laboratories, departmental and interdepartmental. Due to its reputation, it has established strong relationships with international academic institutions as well as with the world of industry and technology. With reference to the history, in 1954, under the rectorship of Gino Cassinis, it was one of the first European university equipped with a computer, in 1963 professor Giulio Natta won the Nobel prize for chemistry and polymer technology (together with Karl Ziegler). Politecnico di Milano is ranking as the first among Italian Universities. In 2013 Politecnico di Milano celebrated its 150th anniversary.

When the organizers started to think about having these Alterman events, they could not have imagined in their wildest dreams that members of the top mathematics departments of France, and thus of the world, would lend them some of their reputation with their participation.
Without Élie Joseph Cartan's legacy, there would not have been Kähler metrics/manifolds, Kähler calculus and quantum mechanics, and Cartan-Kähler theory of exterior systems (read systems of ordinary and partial differential equations). It must be the reason why those notable mathematicians immediately accepted to lend their support to this event. As a result, the Alterman 2018 meeting has a French flavor. It is unfortunate that the German mathematics community has not yet resonated with the promotion of the Kähler calculus. Cartan-Kähler mathematics is the apex of a mathematical tradition that started with Leibnitz and grew, not exclusively but predominantly, in the German 19th century mathematical garden, under gardeners like Gauss, Grasmann, Riemann, F. Klein ... (a dozen names easily follow). And almost all that and much more was put together and generalized by E.J. Cartan.

The main objectives of the 2018 Alterman Conference & School (2018 ACSGAKC) are:

  • Dissemination of papers on Clifford Algebra related subjects, Kähler Calculus and Kähler manifolds.

  • Presentation of some topics on the Kähler calculus at a level appropriate for practitioners of Clifford Algebra.

  • Workshop on Dirac/Kähler related subjects of interest for and at the suggestion of participants, demonstrating the enormous applicability of the Kähler calculus to modern physics, physical problem modeling and simulation.

The 2018 Alterman Conference & School (2018 ACSGAKC) represents a remarkable opportunity to learn the latest advancement in the fields of Clifford Algebra related to Kähler Calculus by the following outstanding, international keynote speakers.
